Seniors With A Purpose

SWAP meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Grace. A ministry focused on the needs of Senior Citizens, our purpose is to provide mutual encouragement to one another, fellowship, service and outreach to seniors, not only at GBFC, but to others in our community as well. Our members are encouraged to invite their friends and neighbors (age 60 +) to come with them to all of our events.
Usually our time together begins with a delicious meal at noon followed by a special speaker, games or sometimes a craft. A summer picnic was the highlight of our June get- together and in September. Great fun was had by all who participated in a “Buttons for Bric-a-Brac” auction, bidding for attic “treasures” with items going to the highest button bidder.
We even take trips. Last year we enjoyed an outing to Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA and this year a trip to our state capitol and an automobile museum in Harrisburg.
Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner is coming up on Thursday, November 19th and if you’re a senior, you are most welcome to join us and bring someone.
Please pray for the ministry of SWAP; that the Lord will bless it with continued growth, continuous spiritual strengthening and encouragement for each one of its senior saints as they trust in Him and declare His power to the next generation.
