Welcome
Grace Bible Fellowship
Church is a congregation in Nazareth whose purpose
is to glorify God. In pursuit of this purpose, we
are committed to offer worship worthy of the Lord
through message and music, to proclaim biblical
truth through sound preaching and teaching, to strengthen
the family of God through fellowship of believers,
and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to our
community and the world beyond.
The
Bible Fellowship Church
We would like to acquaint
you with the Bible Fellowship Church. "BIBLE
FELLOWSHIP CHURCH" is our denominational name,
similar to Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian or other
church names. Our church is headquartered in eastern
Pennsylvania and is spread throughout the Northeast
and continues to grow through planting of new churches.
We are united together by a common statement of
faith to worship, grow spiritually, and serve God
and others through our various ministries.
Grace
Bible Fellowship Church History
Grace
Bible Fellowship Church (BFC) was founded in 1898
with 12 members. (The Bible Fellowship Church was
then known as Mennonite Brethren in Christ.) Grace
BFC started as tent meetings in a peach orchard
at the east end of Nazareth. As the weather grew
colder, the members moved to a storefront on Main
Street across from the present Post Office.
The
church continued to meet at the Main Street location
until 1912 when Grace Chapel was constructed at
14 South Broad Street in Nazareth. Church membership
had grown to 28 by this time.
Grace
BFC continued to meet at Grace Chapel on Broad Street
until 1966 when the congregation moved to its present
location at the corner of Rose Inn and East Beil
Avenues. The congregation had grown to 106 members
and had outgrown the Broad Street facility.
In 1981 with a membership
of 145 the original sanctuary was expanded and then
in 1993 the church building was expanded by the
addition of a brand new sanctuary which seats 312
persons. Grace BFC has now grown to over 200 members
from the original twelve.
Mission
Statement
The mission of Grace
Bible Fellowship Church is to grow in personal knowledge
and love of the Lord and to honor Him in all areas
of life.
What
We Believe
We seek to base our
doctrine and living solely upon God's inspired Word,
the Bible. God created man without sin.
But man turned from
God and against God. The Apostle Paul said, "There
is none righteous, no, not one· For all have sinned
and come short of the glory of God." Manās
greatest need is to be restored to fellowship with
his Maker; and then, with one another. The Gospel
is the Good News that the Father sent His Son, Jesus
Christ, to save all who will come to Him. "God
commended His love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinner's, Christ died for us." Jesus
is the bridge between fallen man and the Holy Lord.
He died to take away the sins of His people! He
freely gives eternal life to every true believer.
Once we have come to know God personally, by receiving
Jesus into our lives as Savior and Lord, God calls
us to grow daily in our knowledge of Him, and in
loving service to others, in Christ's name. Soon
Jesus will return to judge the unbelievers of all
ages where they shall live forever in hell apart
from God and to take believers to be with Him in
heaven forever.
